Susan R. Anderson, MD, FIPP

Susan R. Anderson, MD, FIPP“My focus, on becoming a doctor, was and still is to be the very best diagnostician I can be and never compromise my standard of patient care. I see how pain affects people, their families and their lives. Starting with the right diagnosis is the first step toward alleviating their pain. I also believe in collaborating with the patient’s referring physician to achieve the best possible outcome for the patient. My goal is getting people back to work, sports, hobbies and living with the least invasive procedures and the lowest possible medication doses. In fact, I have found much greater success with a more patient-centered, multidisciplinary body, mind and spirit approach. Because my goal is to do everything possible to benefit patients’ lives.”

“As a nurse, I have always enjoyed listening to stories shared by patients. No matter what the reason for treatment, most illnesses impact the patients’ lives in some way. In pain management, patients’ lives are impacted by pain that interrupts their ability to work, participate in daily activities or play sports. Listening carefully to each patient allows me to better formulate a care plan to help that patient return to ‘normal’ life. The route to the end goal is different for each person, and that is what I like most about my work.”
